Okay, so since none of my friends watch reality shows outside of the VH1 line up. I had no idea that Cutting In The ATL existed until I caught an episode last night. So, I decided to binge watch the entire first season and all of the available segments for season two on my WE TV app on my iPhone.
I have been getting my hair done for years and you can always see the drama stirring among the customers but I never really see too much happening between the owners or the stylist. But Cutting In The A has me on the floor laughing…here is the cast of the show
Owner of Walk-in Weaves, Pretty Hair brand, and Pretty Powerful University is a straight-up businesswoman who dresses with style. Her desire to make money with the other cast mates has put her in a position of having her reputation placed on the front lines. She is currently in a battle with Patricia “Pat” Thompson. Ms. Pat claims Maja stole her idea to create Walk-in weaves but Maja recently stole Pat’s Facebook page and the battle has been raging on between the two. Who’s telling the truth? I can’t wait to find out…
The resident troublemaker, she is always stirring the pot especially with the feud between Maja and Pat. In the beginning I saw Dedra as a solid stylist making a presence in Downtown Atlanta. She had a sheik look and a strong personality; however, I had to be drinking something and my husband slipped me a mickey some where because she is nothing but drama and her personality is a flat-line ^^^^__________________. Kudos to her for opening up a beauty school but I don’t know who she could expect any of the other cast, besides LaKenya, to jump on board and support her crazy ass. I’m going to need you to go sit on a couch and get a prescription real quick!
Speaking of LaKenya, I am going to need you to get a backbone and start running your own life and career. You seem to be a very sweet and peaceful person but you can’t straddle the fence when you are dealing with this “interesting” group of individuals. You are coming across as confused, disloyal and easily lead but you can do some hair tho!
Even though I think she’s bat-shit crazy I love her! Why? Mushiya is who she is, you either love her or hate her but it does not make her a damn bit of difference. If she wants it she’s going for it, good or bad, pass or fail – she is just going to do Mushiya! She’s loud, obnoxious, curt and ambitious. She’s a wife; mother and career woman taking no punches and letting nothing stop her. She comes off hard and abrasive but she’s making thangs happen!
To say it simply, Beautii J is a pretty mess. She is always into something – investing into Maja’s pretty hair, creating a new gym wear line or making mountains out of mole hills and getting everybody involved in her chaos…yeap, she is the poster child for being messy! Beautii, please stop telling everyone know the moves you are making and find some people who can help you see your vision. You have some good ideas on expanding your brand but until you calm down and make moves in silence you are going to always be in the middle of something.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why in the hell you would let Dedra talk you into going after Maja. She got you all pumped up and then stands back and watch you make yourself look bitter. Now, that bag of money with your face on it was a crack up but you don’t think that anyone really respects you for playing games as a grown woman do you? You are really tarnishing your reputation for being a respected artist in the industry. Pat leave Maja alone because while her Walk-in weaves is making her some coins, anyone with sense wouldn’t place a $50 extension job in their head if they expect to keep or grow their own hair.
If he is not a hot mess but in a very lovable way. I think Stephen is so cute and slide line messy. He’s not overt in his approach to any situation; he is very calculating and strategic (take notes Beautii J) but baby he will plant the seeds of drama and watch them gloriously flourish among the rest of the cast…He makes me want to watch the shown smooches Stephen.
Finally, I have to give you a hand clap on your read of Ms. Beautii J on this last episode but I agree with Stephen and Maja you can’t keep that behavior up and expect to have a predominantly female clientele. Tre’ to secure you position as a top stylist and making the kind of money that laughs at coins because it folds…you have to be more “delicate” with the ladies. You have that type of personality that draws a person in but don’t run us away…you remind of a dear friend of mines and we had good times, great times because he knew how to balance his sass with class despite the other person or people acting like an ass…I’ll be watching you!
Mixers, are you watching Cutting In The ATL? Who’s your favorite on the cast? What are your thoughts? What did I say that you didn’t agree with? Chime in and give me your opinion…remember
