I know you had to watch the Lexus and TV One’s – Season 3, Verses and Flow premiere last night!!! The host, Omari Hardwick ,opened the show up with his own verse and flow backed by the melodic sounds of live violins. You can’t tell me he didn’t set the mood for what turned out to be one of the hottest debuts, so far, this year for TV One.
Omari Hardwick & Ms. Nix
I am a fan of poetry and an even bigger fan of poets who seek to inspire and motivate you into taking a deeper look at the issues that plague society and surround our daily lives. Last night, each artist bought to the table depth through their inspired word and heartfelt emotion – each presented well poised and well versed poems of overcoming, triumph, education, being a mentor/educator and much more!
Not only were we allowed to see the creative talents of these poets but it seems Ms. Jill Scott had to remind you she is not only a musical diva du jour but she is a passionate poetess herself! Only to follow it up by performing for the #VersesandFlow viewers – Jilly from Philly is looking good and sounding great!
But the night was not finished – @TVOneTV, #VersesandFlow and @Lexus had something more in store. They bought us the super group of the 90’s, three members from (one of my favorite) group New Edition – BellBivDeVoe came on stage and gave us their smooth R&B over Hip-Hop beats complete with energetic dance moves that had the crowd going. Oh, might I add, they look just as good in person as they do on your screen and they are absolutely true gentlemen!
#VersesandFlow is starting their Season 3 bringing the heat! Make sure you tune and watch on TV One, Wednesday nights at 9/8c.
Ms. Nix and the Mix Team would like to personally thank Jessica Ann Mitchell of Black Bloggers Connect, Kopper Overton of Walton Issacson, TVOne, Lexus and of course all the poets, artists and staff associated with #VersesandFlow for allow us to be a part of this season’s tapping.
