#LaLa Anthony: The Love Playbook Book Signing – Los Angeles

February is not only Black History Month but it is also known for having the most celebrated day of love – February 14th, Valentine’s Day. What better way for fans of LaLa Anthony to celebrate love than to attend her Barnes & Noble book signing of her book, “The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex and Happiness which happens to be a No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller’s List.

LaLa Anthony The Love Playbook

I had the opportunity to attend the event and witnessed all the tremendous support from LaLa’s fans and celebrity friends. As I looked over the crowd, from various walks of life, you could see and feel the positive flow of energy as everyone eagerly awaited for the moment when their copy of The Love Playbook would be personalized by none other than the author herself.

While her “famous” friends The Game, JaMaal Buster (The Lash Guru) and even the R&B sensation and mother-to-be Ciara (who choose to stay in the background and away from media and the crowds) showed their support; it was definitely Mrs. Anthony’s night and her sparkling personality and wide-spread smile confirmed she was pleased with the turn-out at the event.

Nina Parker

After watching LaLa and Nina Parker, from The Insider magazine, discussed relationship advice and love tips from her book; I (the Spotlight Diva) was afforded the opportunity to conduct a short interview with Ms. Anthony and was given an exclusive:

Lala’s, 5th and Mercer clothing line, is working on a plus size line for the curvy girls – I hope she remembers I am here and would love to be her spokes model. So curvy fashionistas keep your eyes open, Mrs. Anthony may be bringing her 5th and Mercer style to the plus size world of fashion

As we continued to talk LaLa made a statement that rings true for everyone, “At the very core you must love yourself no matter what type of woman you are”, when she said this we were discussing the differences between plus size women and others but if this is any indication of her perspective on life and self-worth…I know her book must be an absolute page turner…

On behalf of myself, The Spotlight Diva, and the Ms. Nix in the Mix staff – we would like to thank LaLa Anthony, (her publicist) Mrs. Karen Draine of Fully Covered Media/PR for an amazing job and giving us the opportunity to attend the book signing. Make sure you keep visiting Ms. Nix in the Mix as I will be keeping you posted on everything LaLa Anthony.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Haitian Beauty, Sandy Jean Philippe recently hit the Hollywood scene when she led a team of full-figured models to win the grand prize on E! Networks “Bank of Hollywood”, produced by Ryan Seacrest. The grand prize would provide financing for Sandy and her company “One Chance Entertainment”, and six of their models on a six-city “Evolution of Curves”, tour showcasing fashion for the curvy, full-figured woman. As a young and very ambitious teen, Sandy recalls being told that her hopes to be a model and actress were not realistic because she just didn’t fit the “mold”. These comments would prove to be the driving force to her success. After graduating from college, she packed her bags and headed west to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams in acting and modeling. Sandy landed a role in the movie Trapped: Haitian Nights starring Vivica Fox and Kenya Moore, scheduled to be in theaters summer 2010. Other credits include, “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” and most recently, she landed a Music Video appearance with recording artist Macy Gray for her upcoming single. Sandy is a vivacious young woman with a big heart who loves to entertain. She possesses all the qualities to be successful in the industry and in the community. This Haitian Bombshell is prepared to take the world by storm. “Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, race, and ethnicities. I am the Essence of a Woman. I represent the Fabulous B’s Beauty, Brains, and Boldness”, says Sandy.
