The Miss Plus Top Model Pageant

Whoever said curvy girls can’t walk the runway has never attended the Miss Plus Top Model Pageant. The Miss Plus Top Model pageant was founded by Juliette Hagerman to celebrate the curvy woman. Miss Plus Top Model is a part of Hagerman and Associates Entertainment Productions which has cast full-figured models at events during LA Fashion week, Rock Your Curves and various media outlets looking for beautiful, curvy women.

This year’s Miss Plus Top Model pageant began with a Project Runway scene where each contestant created their own look out of garbage bags – here take a look:

My personal favorite was worn by contestant no. 10 – she absolutely slayed the look!

One of the highlights of the evening was, of course, the wedding segment. The contestants graced the runway in gowns provided by Strut Bridal Boutique from Long Beach, California – the entire collection was fabulous…

As the evening was coming to a close, no pageant would be complete without one final fierce run down the catwalk with each contestant wearing a featured design by Tamechi Toney Briggs – known for his amazing talent; he has worked with Miss Plus Top Model for the past 10 years and had just received an ICON award earlier in the evening.

Finally, it was time to crown the 2014 Miss Plus Top Model and while we congratulate all those who participated in the competition; we send an extra round of applause to the finalists – contestant numbers 10 and 13 for coming in as the pageant’s finalist.

And now we give you the 2014 Miss Plus Top Model….

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Haitian Beauty, Sandy Jean Philippe recently hit the Hollywood scene when she led a team of full-figured models to win the grand prize on E! Networks “Bank of Hollywood”, produced by Ryan Seacrest. The grand prize would provide financing for Sandy and her company “One Chance Entertainment”, and six of their models on a six-city “Evolution of Curves”, tour showcasing fashion for the curvy, full-figured woman. As a young and very ambitious teen, Sandy recalls being told that her hopes to be a model and actress were not realistic because she just didn’t fit the “mold”. These comments would prove to be the driving force to her success. After graduating from college, she packed her bags and headed west to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams in acting and modeling. Sandy landed a role in the movie Trapped: Haitian Nights starring Vivica Fox and Kenya Moore, scheduled to be in theaters summer 2010. Other credits include, “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” and most recently, she landed a Music Video appearance with recording artist Macy Gray for her upcoming single. Sandy is a vivacious young woman with a big heart who loves to entertain. She possesses all the qualities to be successful in the industry and in the community. This Haitian Bombshell is prepared to take the world by storm. “Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, race, and ethnicities. I am the Essence of a Woman. I represent the Fabulous B’s Beauty, Brains, and Boldness”, says Sandy.
